Starting out in a new classroom
Starting out in a new classroom as a teacher or pupil can be extremely daunting. If you are a pupil, then you may worry about if you will fit in, what the other children will think about you and if you will like your new teacher. For a teacher you can often worry about similar issues. Often one of teacher’s main concerns is will they have good control of the classroom and be able to get the children to learn what they need to.
If you have a teaching assistant in the class it is always a good idea to approach them before hand and get to know them. Not only will they be your ally when it comes to classroom activities but they may also be able to give you the low down on the children and which ones you need to watch and whom you can rely on etc.
